Sara Ramsey

Biography:

Sara grew up outside a tiny town in southern Iowa. She spent her childhood reading anything she could get her hands on - birthday cards, grocery lists, signs, the entire ANNE OF GREEN GABLES series, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Nancy Drew, and even her brother's Hardy Boys books. Around the age of 12, she stumbled across her first romance novel and was immediately hooked. She kept reading through high school, during breaks in her studies at Stanford University, and as she fell into an advertising position in Silicon Valley. She made the switch to writing romance in 2007. Now, Sara lives in San Francisco, working during the day and writing at night. She is pursuing publication for her first novel, ONE NIGHT TO SEDUCTION (2009 GH winner in the Regency Historical category under the name AN INCONVENIENT MARRIAGE), and she’s starting on her second book.

It’s Day 2 (or 3, or 4, depending on how you’re counting) of RWA 2010, but it feels like I’ve been in Orlando for twice as long. I feel like I’m packing so much in to each day, and judging by the other women dashing (or, like me, tottering) through the lobby in their high heels, most people have adopted the same frenetic pace.

NaNoWriMo – Success Isn’t Just Words on the Page

Filed in: Misc, blog

Like several of the Ruby Slippered Sisters, I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year, and I’m not exactly on track compared to where I should be on the tenth day. My inner critic is screeching about my failure from the box I tossed her into at the start of November…but more on her in a moment.

Golden Heart: Stepping Stone or Stumbling Block?

Filed in: Golden Heart, blog

Entering the Golden Heart contest is a great goal. For some, it may be the only goal, and that’s just fine with me; as other Ruby Slippered Sisters have mentioned, pursuing your own vision for your career is vitally important. But regardless of whether you’re using it to speed up your writing or to try [...]
