All About honoraryruby

Gabriela Lessa a Brazilian journalist, writer and editor living in her hometown, but working in English (why do the simple thing if you can complicate it, right?). She writes multicultural women's fiction, critiques other writers' work and freelances for online and print publications. In addition to writing, she's now focusing on editing, a big passion of hers. Gabriela has a Master’s degree in Magazine / Investigative Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and loves all things narrative journalism, which doesn't at all diminish her passion for fiction. She particularly enjoys novels that are funny, heartbreaking, absurdly well-written or introduce her to a new culture (if they’re all of the above, she'll probably want to cuddle with them). She blogs, tweets, loves social media and talks a lot, both in person or in any other media you might run into her. She's warm, loud, blatantly honest and has absolutely no personal space, so feel free to get in touch at all times (don't worry, she's friendly most of the time). She's constantly learning, developing, changing, adapting. And she loves that! To know a bit more about Gabriela, you can visit her website, www.gabrielalessa.com.

But Hemingway said so…

From the Honorary Ruby Sister, Gabriela Lessa:

Midnight in Paris Movie PosterThe other day I went to watch Midnight in Paris. In between the many stops to try to explain to my not-exactly-art-fan fiancé what the hell was going on, I got to laugh, and dream and even learn a bit. That movie has so many great moments, so many punch lines. But there was one that stuck with me.

Ok, rewind. For those who don’t know what the movie is about, it’s about an American aspiring writer (Owen Wilson) who considers the twenties the “golden age” of the arts. When he goes toPariswith his fiancé, he finds he can somehow time travel, and every night he gets to meet his idols.
